Luminary is a motivational quotes platform. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Free users: We do not collect personal data. All browsing preferences, saved quotes, and session data are stored in your browser's localStorage on your device and are never transmitted to us.
Subscribers: When you subscribe via Stripe, we receive your email address and a Stripe subscription ID from Stripe's webhook. We store this in a server-side file to verify your subscription status when you sign in. We do not store payment card details - these are handled entirely by Stripe.
Email newsletter: If you opt in to the daily quote email, we store your email address to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Free users see Google AdSense advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits. Opt out at Google Ads Settings. Spark and Flame subscribers are ad-free. We comply with Google's EU User Consent Policy and display a consent notice to EEA, UK, and Switzerland users via Google's CMP.
Luminary loads quotes from type.fit, dummyjson.com, api.quotable.io, and en.wikiquote.org. These requests are made directly from your browser and are subject to each provider's privacy policy. We do not proxy or log these requests.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive only your email address and subscription status from Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
Luminary itself sets no cookies. Google AdSense (for free users) and Stripe may set cookies as described in their respective privacy policies.
Subscriber records are retained while your subscription is active and for 90 days after cancellation, then deleted. Email newsletter addresses are retained until you unsubscribe.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@readluminary.com. Free user data exists only in your own browser - clear your localStorage to remove it. To remove your email from our newsletter list, click the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us directly.
We may update this policy. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the current policy.
